eXp Mentor Program & GO! Mentee Curriculum (How It Works)

Overview of eXp’s Mentor Program for new agents and the two-part GO! Mentee Curriculum. Learn who qualifies, what’s required to graduate, and how mentors are certified—no hype, just the facts.

Who It’s For

Agents who have completed fewer than 3 transactions in the past 12 months in their state (varies by state). Eligible agents are paired with a certified eXp mentor in their same MLS and local market.

How It Works

Mentees meet with their mentor weekly (or as needed), receive shadowing opportunities, transaction support, and progress through the GO! Mentee Curriculum (delivered via eXp University/learning platform).

Compliance & Fees

For required mentee transactions, a 20% mentee split applies during the program: 10% to eXp and 10% to the mentor. This applies until graduation. Standard brokerage fees still apply.

GO! Mentee Curriculum

Two parts to build foundation + production skills

  • GO! Joining — taken as you join (pre-license transfer). Includes: eXp Fundamentals, Welcome to the Mentor Program, and State-Specific Mentor Content.
  • GO! Core Curriculum — once active and paired with a mentor, complete eight sessions:
    A Buyer-Focused Fundamentals • B Sales & Business Planning • C Real Estate Fundamentals • D Lead Management • E Appraisals & Valuations • F Working with Buyers • G Working with Sellers • H Social Media Marketing

Graduation Requirements

What you must complete to exit the program

  • Complete 3 transactions with your mentor (some states may require more).
  • Successfully complete the GO! Mentee Curriculum (Joining + Core sessions).
  • Attend at least 50% of state meetings and attend weekly eXp agent leadership meetings.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented in SkySlope.

Once all requirements are met, the mentee “graduates” and returns to the standard commission structure and fees (no mentee split).

Mentor Certification

How agents become eXp-certified mentors

  • Complete at least 8 transactions in the last 12 months and at least 2 transactions at eXp.
  • Complete certification steps (includes a 1–2 hour course).
  • Attend 8 of 12 monthly Mentor Mastermind Workshops in eXp World.
  • Attend at least 50% of state meetings.
  • Upon completion, mentors join the Mentor Workplace Group for resources and support.

Program scale: Over 7,000 mentors and 23,000 mentees participating across eXp.

FAQs

Who qualifies as a mentee at eXp?
Generally, agents with fewer than three transactions in the past 12 months in their state. State-specific exceptions apply (e.g., NC and WA). You’ll be matched with a certified mentor in your local MLS.
What extra fees apply to mentees?
For required mentee transactions, there is a 20% mentee split during the program: 10% to eXp and 10% to your mentor. Standard brokerage fees (e.g., monthly tech, transaction review, risk management) still apply.
How do I graduate from the Mentor Program?
Complete the GO! Mentee Curriculum, close the required number of transactions with your mentor (typically three; some states require more), attend required meetings, and ensure proper documentation in SkySlope.
Can I choose or change my mentor?
The program pairs you with a certified mentor in your area and MLS. Pairing is designed around availability, experience, and fit. Ask your state broker team about options if a change is necessary.
Does the Mentor Program replace Co-Sponsorship?
No. These are separate. The Mentor Program supports newly licensed or low-recent-transaction agents with hands-on training. Co-Sponsorship is a sponsorship support structure related to revenue share and onboarding.
