Quick Summary: eXp ICON Agent Program

An eXp ICON Agent is an eXp Realty agent who completes the program’s production requirement during a 12-month anniversary period and satisfies the applicable program conditions. ICON is more than simply reaching the $16,000 commission cap. The agent must cap first, then complete additional qualifying production. Eligible ICON Agents may earn stock awards tied to production, cultural contribution, and approved event attendance.

What Is ICON?

ICON recognizes agents who meet certain production requirements and demonstrate eXp’s core values within a 12-month capping period. ICONs are invited to exclusive groups and events for collaboration and growth.

How to Qualify

Agents must first cap ($16,000) and then achieve additional production requirements during their anniversary year. Transactions must be fully settled and properly documented in SkySlope. The ICON team confirms eligibility.

Official Notification

Once the Production Requirement is met, agents are typically notified by the ICON Program by the 25th of the following month. From there, they complete additional steps for full ICON benefits.

Core search question

What Does eXp ICON Mean?

ICON is a recognition status within eXp Realty for agents who demonstrate strong production and participate in the company’s collaborative culture. It recognizes agents who build productive businesses while also sharing knowledge, contributing to the community, and supporting other agents.

Production Recognition

Agents must reach the annual cap and then satisfy additional production requirements within the same anniversary year.

Cultural Contribution

ICON includes an opportunity to earn a Cultural Commitment Award through approved activities that give back to the eXp community.

Stock Award Opportunity

Qualified agents may become eligible for up to $16,000 in eXp World Holdings stock awards, subject to current program terms.

What Is the Difference Between Capping and Becoming ICON?

Capping and ICON are connected, but they are not the same achievement. Capping is the first major production milestone. ICON requires the agent to continue beyond that milestone and complete the program’s additional production and eligibility requirements.

Capping

The agent’s company dollar reaches the annual $16,000 cap. After capping, the agent generally moves to 100% commission for the remainder of the anniversary year, while applicable fees continue.

ICON Status

The agent first caps and then completes the additional ICON production requirement. Program verification, compliance, cultural contribution, and event-related opportunities may follow.

Stock Awards: Up to $16,000

FAQs

What is an eXp ICON Agent?
An eXp ICON Agent is an agent who completes the program’s production requirement during the applicable anniversary period and satisfies current eligibility conditions. ICON also includes cultural contribution and event-related stock award opportunities.
Can a new real estate agent become ICON?
A newer agent can potentially qualify if the agent reaches the cap, completes the required additional production, and satisfies all current program conditions during the applicable anniversary period.
Can an eXp team agent qualify for ICON?
Team agents may potentially qualify, but transaction attribution, team structures, cap arrangements, and program eligibility must follow current eXp rules. The ICON team determines official qualification.
Does ICON status reset every year?
ICON qualification is connected to the agent’s 12-month capping or anniversary period. Continued recognition generally requires qualifying again during a later period under the rules then in effect.
Are eXp ICON stock awards guaranteed?
No. Awards depend on meeting current production, cultural, event, licensing, affiliation, vesting, and other program conditions. Stock value can also change.
What happens if an agent leaves eXp before an ICON award vests?
An unvested award may be affected if the agent does not remain eligible through the required vesting date. Review current award documents and consult qualified advisors regarding individual circumstances.
Is ICON available outside the United States?
Availability and program structure may differ by country. Agents should review country-specific information and verify current local ICON eligibility through official eXp resources.
Is becoming an eXp ICON Agent worth it?
That depends on the agent’s production, expenses, goals, tax situation, and ability to satisfy current award requirements. ICON may offer recognition, collaboration, and stock award opportunities, but it does not guarantee profitability or future investment value.
What’s the difference between capping and ICON?
Capping is when your 20% company dollar totals $16,000 within your anniversary year. ICON requires you to cap and meet additional production and cultural requirements to receive stock awards and recognition.
Can you achieve ICON more than once?
Yes. Qualified agents can achieve ICON in each new 12-month capping period, subject to program terms and eligibility.
Is there vesting on ICON stock awards?
The Cultural Commitment Award ($4,000) has a one-year vest and requires remaining exclusively licensed with eXp Realty at the vesting mark. Event Attendance Awards up to $4,000 have no vesting. Program terms apply to all awards.
Do I have to apply to become ICON?
The ICON Program verifies qualification based on your production and compliance records. You’ll be notified after meeting the Production Requirement, typically by the 25th of the following month.
Where can I learn more?
